COVID Vaccination For Students 16+ Years of Age

Oberlin High School Parents/Guardians:

The Lorain County Public Health Department will offer the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccination for students who are between the ages of 16 and 18 years old.

Oberlin High School will host the clinic on Thursday, April 29 in the morning. The clinic is open to all Oberlin City Schools virtual, homeschool, and onsite high school students. Students must have verified parental consent prior to receiving the vaccine. Students are expected to receive their second dose on Thursday, May 20.

  • Only a parent or guardian can sign a student up to be vaccinated. Students are NOT allowed to sign themselves up.

  • Parents do NOT need to be present for the vaccination. Only students who have parental permission will be able to take the vaccine.

  • The vaccine is FREE.

  • Students will take the approved age-appropriate COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine. Only students 16-years or older can receive the vaccine.

  • Parents: If your child received another vaccine (such as the meningitis shot) within the last 2 weeks they cannot sign their child up for a COVID-19 vaccine. There must be 14 days in between vaccinations

  • Vaccines will be administered by the LCHD School Nurse(s).


Note:

1. Parents must first register themselves in Armor Vax (see below). They will need to enter all of their demographic information first.

2. Then add your child as a family member to the account.

3. Then schedule their child for the appointment and give consent.

As a side note, the vaccine is NOT mandatory for Oberlin High School students. This is simply an opportunity to host a clinic for our students if they wish to receive the vaccine from the Lorain County Public Health Department.
