Boys & Girls Club Opportunity and Application

Dear Oberlin City Schools Families,

In collaboration with Oberlin City Schools, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio is happy to announce a K-5, in-person, virtual learning center for students. This Club Smart Virtual Learning Center will serve as a support to the district’s virtual learning initiatives. Students will have a safe place with support from trained adults to access, complete and submit their academic requirements. The virtual learning center will take place at Eastwood Elementary School, 198 East College Street.

The virtual learning center will commence Sept 8th, during the hours of 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. Transportation will be provided by Oberlin City Schools to and from Eastwood Elementary for those students attending the virtual learning center.

We encourage those families who need this program to take full advantage. However, please keep in mind that space is limited, so only use these resources if needed. We are accepting applications until August 28, 2020. You can apply online by clicking this link: https://forms.gle/xsk79JmA38JRS3ET9 or you can pick up and drop off applications at the Board of Education office at 153 North Main Street from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

You will be notified by phone if your child(ren) have secured a spot. Submitting an application does not guarantee a spot in the program.

Please note that all CDC recommendations for social distancing, sanitation and safety will be taken within our virtual center. The safety of our children and staff are of the upmost importance. Students must come to the center with a mask and have a temperature below 100F. We look forward to providing support to the families in this community and are here to answer any questions you may have. Please e-mail Chad Heileman at cheileman@bgcneo.org or Jay Nimene at jnimene@oberlinschools.net for more information or with questions.
