The Office Of Dr. David Hall
Superintendent: Dr. David H. Hall
Superintendent’s Assistant: Jacquie Dovin
My name is Dr. David H. Hall and I am the new superintendent for Oberlin City schools. My family and I are very proud and excited to become members of the Oberlin community. I come to Oberlin City Schools with 22 years of educational experience, which ranges from being a classroom teacher in the Kalamazoo Public School system to an assistant superintendent for Lorain City Schools. I have also served my country proudly for 20 years alongside the Army Corp of Engineers, which included a deployment in Iraq.
I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as superintendent to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.
Oberlin City Schools has a proud tradition of high standards and achievement. Our innovative teachers, administrators, support staff and myself are committed to upholding these high standards. Oberlin City Schools is one of the few schools in Ohio that engages in the academically and socially rigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) program. IB is a comprehensive program, which challenges students in grades PK-12. The IB program challenges students to excel in their studies, and encourages both personal and academic achievement. http://www.ibo.org/
Oberlin City Schools is committed to preparing all students for future success in a global economically and socially challenging society. Our students deserve the best, and Oberlin City Schools is the best school in Ohio.
