Oberlin City Schools Monthly Update

Oberlin City Schools September Monthly Community Update:

Strategic Planning:

Oberlin City Schools will engage in developing our five-year strategic plan. The district will need community input in the process. We will distribute community, teacher, and student surveys to gather data regarding academics and social concerns in the school system. Our Core Planning Team will involve members of the community, clergy, college, parents, teachers, business owners, administrators, and various other school stakeholders. Ohio School Board Association will facilitate the process. The initiative is 100% grant funded. Oberlin City Schools is excited to have our community involved in shaping the future of our district.

Bus Count Week:

October 2 to October 6, 2017, the district will have our annual state reporting bus count week. During the first full week in October school districts will count the number of students on our AM bus routes to determine bus funding. If your child is eligible for the bus, we would like for them to ride this week.

Y.O.U Course:

Our new Youth Opportunity Unlimited course at Oberlin High School is off to a great start. The program will provide LCCC college credit opportunity for students engaged in the course. The course will focus on preparing students to become college and career ready. The course had a kickoff day last week. It was well attended by parents and community members. The course will also extend over the summer by assisting students with employment opportunities.

The district would like to thank you for your support. Please follow our social media for additional updates:
