Nordson, TECH CORPS, Oberlin City Schools Partner to Offer Free Tech Camps

The Oberlin City Schools is teaming with TECH CORPS to offer FREE Techie Camps this summer.

Techie Camp is a full-day, week-long technology experience designed specifically for elementary and middle school students. The goal of Techie Camp is to engage students in activities that can stimulate a deeper interest in technology; as well as provide opportunities for them to express their imaginations.

Students take a deep dive into subject matter focused on Robotics, Programming, Android App or Web Development and emerge with skills that are useful in today’s classroom and tomorrow's workplace.

With support from the Nordson Corporation, TECH CORPS will implement its Techie Camp® program with 280 students who live in Lorain County, Youngstown, Ohio, or New Castle, Pennsylvania during the summer of 2016.  Fourteen Techie Camps will be held in various locations throughout Lorain County and Youngstown this summer.

Students interested in participating in this program will need to turn in a complete Application Packet before April 1,2016.   Don’t delay – applications will be scored upon receipt.  Students will be selected based on application score and then by the date their application was received.

The application can be accessed directly here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2016techiecampnordson
